Matt Smriga has a degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota and a law degree from the Hamline University School of Law. He has spent most of his life in Minnesota, and considers himself a proud Minnesotan, but was actually born in the jewel of the north, Canada.
After graduating from law school in 2008, Matt had the opportunity to work as a campus organizer during the 2008 presidential election season and was bitten by the organizing bug. He promptly dropped his plans to pursue a career in the legal field and has been working in the organizing and nonprofit world ever since. Highlights include managing a successful campaign for school board in a Twin Cities suburban community and working as a public speaker for the Greater Twin Cities United Way.
Matt currently serves as the Director of Campus Organizing for the Minnesota State University Student Association. He spends the majority of his free time seeking wisdom and enlightenment.
