Camp Wellstone Twin Cities
Camp Wellstone is a 2 ½ day training running from 3-9pm Friday, 9am-6pm Saturday, and 9am-3:30pm Sunday. It is open to anyone interested in gaining practical skills in progressive political action. During Camp Wellstone, we provide focus areas based on your role in progressive organizing, each with a distinctive curriculum taught by some of the nation's leading experts in grassroots politics and organizing.
Registration is now open!
When you register, you choose from one of three tracks below and stay with that track throughout the weekend:
- Grassroots Organizer Track: How to win on grassroots organizing issues
- Working on a Campaign: How to win progressive campaigns as a campaign worker or volunteer
- Being a Candidate: How to run and win a progressive campaign, for those running for office or considering running in the future
Not sure which track to take? Read more about them here.
The cost to attend is your choice of registration fee of either $150 or $300. We believe in training everyone, regardless of income – so while the true cost of Camp Wellstone is actually greater than $300, we strive to keep our trainings affordable for progressive leaders at all income levels – and we look to you to decide what’s fair, based on your personal circumstances. If you have difficulty paying either of these fees, please contact Jen to discuss scholarships (please indicate which track you are interested in!). No matter the level you choose, the benefits are the same (training, customized materials, one of our books, and 3 meals during the weekend).
Refunds and Cancellation Policy
A refund, minus $15 processing fee, will be made if cancellation is requested at least one week prior to the start date of the training. All other cancellations after this time may allow for sending another individual in your place, or holding the registration fee to attend a future Camp Wellstone training.

The training will be held at the Humphey School Conference Center in Minneapolis (click the link for address, directions, and parking information). Participants are responsible for their own lodging accommodations. Suggested nearby hotels include: Courtyard Minneapolis Downtown, and/or Residence Inn Minneapolis Downtown at the Depot.
