    We gathered up the cutting-edge strategies and current best practices to create this toolkit for progressive across the country. And to do it, we built this library the Wellstone Way, by working with the best and brightest campaigners from all over the progressive community.

  • Inspired by Family, and Wellstone

    Five years ago, at a Camp Wellstone in Raleigh NC, Kara Hollingsworth walked up to our Director of Strategic Initiatives, Erik Peterson. Erik trained all weekend wearing a pin that had a peace sign and a yellow ribbon, the logo for Military Families Speak Out (MFSO).
     
    “I was like, ‘Oh my gosh’” Kara explains, “It’s not a button you saw very often. Getting involved with MFSO was one of the ways I started my work in politics and policy. And it turned out that Erik had a personal connection with MFSO’s founders, Nancy and Charlie.”

  • “Politics Is Not About Predictions, It’s About What We Do”

    On March 23rd, the well known number-cruncher Nate Silver came out with a 2014 election prediction that said the Democrats were unlikely to hold the U.S. Senate this November. Just as conservatives pounced all over him with his 2012 Obama victory predictions, progressives this time howled and called his numbers faulty.  His prediction, and the reaction to it, got a lot of news coverage and political chatter.
