At the Sheila Wellstone Institute, we're starting 2009 with a groundbreaking training and action day at the state capitol to end violence against women.
Sheila Wellstone was a national advocate, organizer, and champion in the effort to end domestic and sexual violence in the U.S., and she had a particular passion for giving voice to women and children whose stories were being left untold.
Now, we're offering a training for the often forgotten victims - trafficked, prostituted, and prosecuted women. These survivors will learn skills of grassroots organizing and grassroots lobbying with legislators.
Join them in lobbying their legislators at the Minnesota State Capitol to raise our voices to end violence against women!
End Violence Against Women

Join us to rally for an end to violence against women, hear from Minnesota leaders, and prepare for the national campaign to fund the Violence Against Women Act. The Sheila Wellstone Institute is leading a grassroots campaign this year to ensure that services for battered women and their families - services that mean the difference between life and death - don't lose their funding in an economic crisis when demand for them are at an all-time high. Watch for more information and updates on this critical campaign in the coming weeks.
