Advanced Campaign Management School
This intensive, multi-day training is designed for individuals with a high level of past electoral experience who want to take their political organizing skills to the next level. We train the individuals who will be playing a key role in upcoming elections, especially as managers of congressional and statewide campaigns, state legislative caucuses/committees, senior staff on statewide elections, or staff leading major issue-based campaigns or initiatives.
Drawing on cutting-edge best practices and led by expert practitioners with decades of electoral success, this training is for people who are serious about managing winning progressive campaigns. Training sessions and exercises at ACMS focus on core campaign competencies, case studies, and an intensive campaign simulation, including:
- Campaign planning and budgeting
- Message development and delivery
- Earned and paid media
- Targeting and direct voter contact
- Direct mail
- Online organizing and social media
- Management and leadership
ACMS is typically held in late fall/early winter during odd years (i.e. 2013, 2015, etc.) to fully prepare the leaders and managers of key upcoming races. The 2013 ACMS will likely be held in early December, and more information will be available in the fall.
