The difference between winning and losing often comes down to data. How you collect, manage, and utilize information about voters and supporters determines the direction and power of your campaign.

Now more than ever, campaigns and movement organizations are looking for well-trained, qualified data managers to drive metrics-based programs and steer organizational decisions based on hard data.

Ideal candidates for Data BootCamp are those with an affinity for working with data and analytics. If you want to get into the world of political and advocacy data, either launching your career or taking it to the next level, Data BootCamp is for you.

Training sessions at Data BootCamp will cover:

  • Basics of voter file data;
  • Skills to clean and manage data using Excel, Access, and SQL;
  • Strategies for targeting voters and structuring a campaign program;
  • Building and presenting information to report on campaign progress; and
  • Tactics for working effectively with other campaign departments

The application window for this program is now closed. 

Data BootCamp will be held just outside of Baltimore, at the Maritime Conference Center, near the BWI airport.

Accepted participants will be responsible for booking and paying for their flight and transportation to the training.

Data BootCamp is needs-blind and admission decisions will be made without regards to ability to pay.  You will be able to indicate through the application if you will need a scholarship in order to be able to attend. The regular cost to attend is $2,500 which includes all training materials, meals, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages and lodging for 6 nights at the training location (or $1800 if you are local and do not need a guest room).
