This month, we are celebrating our fifth birthday here at Wellstone Action! As part of the celebration, we'll be posting visuals and other information to help tell the story of the impact we've had on the progressive movement in the last five years.
Our biggest impact is through the actions of our training alumni to organize, advocate, and mobilize for change. We pride ourselves at Wellstone Action on not just training the "usual suspects" and going to states (like Idaho, Montana, or Texas) that get left off the traditional progressive map. In addition to beating our own path, we also "layer" trainings in certain states where there is a progressive infrastructure to absorb all the trained, ready organizers and put them to work.
The following maps show the distribution nationally of our alums working in progressive electoral politics, either as candidates themselves or as campaign staff and volunteers. More info to follow on our alums working in labor unions, with non-profit organizations, and on college campuses.
