Wellstone Action is excited about the launch of our new, feature-rich website. Beyond the bells and whistles, the truly great new asset is how the website will improve our ability to communicate with the broader progressive movement and create a forum to share ideas.
As we open a new set of doors, one of the progressive movement'sl eaders in message and communication is closing theirs. On April 30th, the Rockridge Institute will end its era as the nation's leading progressive think-tank on framing the debate. Led by Senior Fellow George Lakoff (acclaimed author of Don't Think of an Elephant), the Rockridge Institute encouraged progressives to doff the language of 10-point programs and reclaim the mantle of a deeply-held, clearly articulated set of values. They have been hugely influential to campaigns and organizations, including Wellstone Action.
While they are officially closing their doors, the Rockridge Institute's online publication archive will remain. This is a huge asset to any progressive organization looking for values-based messaging on a range of progressive issues. This includes the fully downloadable text of Thinking Points, the Rockridge Institute's handbook that popularizes the essentials of framing.
