Yesterday we wrapped up five intensive days at our Advanced Campaign Management School. These campaign managers and senior leaders are ready to take on progressive change in 2010.
Wellstone Action's Advanced Campaign Management School (ACMS) is designed for individuals with a high level of past electoral experience and those who plan to play leadership roles in 2010 campaigns. The training drew on cutting-edge best practices and was led by expert practitioners with decades of electoral success.
Participants hailed from 15 states, including New York, Texas, California, and Ohio. Wellstone Action's ACMS is designed to give skills to a new generation of campaign leadership - 43% of participants were women, 59% were under 35 years old, and 40% were participants of color.
Congrats to our new ACMS graduates!

Getting a paid political position
I would LOVE to work on a political campaign in 2010, but I have no idea where to start. I have volunteer experience on multiple campaigns, and I have even taken one of your courses (in LA). Any ideas you could give me would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Amy McGonagle
Amy, There are a few
Amy,
There are a few options for you. One, perhaps the easiest, is to research local campaigns in your area coming up in 2010, find a candidate you like, and start volunteering. Often campaigns do not staff up early in the year but will look to people they know when they do start to hire.
There are also some national resources. Democratic GAIN is one for progressive campaigns. You can visit their job board and other resources at http://www.democraticgain.org/.
You can also submit your resume to Wellstone Action's database - we do not host a job board, but many campaigns come to us looking to hire staff and we send out opportunities to our alumni. Submit your resume here: https://www.thedatabank.com/dpg/114/personal2.asp?formid=RESUME
"ONE" Voive
Awareness is the key. People are unaware that treatment Centers and psychiatric hospital are closing because the public did not vote to keep them open. They were NOT given enough information to vote. They were unaware because the media piece was missing. . If we join as ONE voice and it would be (Awareness. ) How do we bring awareness on global level- Media/celebrities. They are the key. We realize the recession will not bring the help with funding. There is no funding because awareness is missing. Awareness will bring compassion and I believe it bring even more than I dreamed of.Face Book me lisasrfrgrl@msn.com JOIN "ONE VOICE."
