Danielle has a strong interest in grassroots organizing and voter engagement efforts; more specifically her interests in community issues include the politicization of the judiciary and issues affecting urban populations such as education, health, and economic stability. Having interned with the MN Women Lawyers Association (MWL) and Alliance for Justice (AFJ) in Washington DC, she has done organizing around the politicization of the judiciary. In addition, her experiences in working with political campaigns include interning with Andy Luger for Hennepin County Attorney and volunteering with Peter Hutchinson for Governor of MN.
Ms. Turnquest is currently a senior pursuing a BA in Political Science and Philosophy at Macalester College in St Paul, MN. She also works part-time at the ACES after-school program in St. Paul. After graduating, Danielle plans to take a year off to work in the non-profit industry, then will go on to obtain a Masters in Public Policy to eventually do work in policy-making and advocacy.
