As a candidate, it is no surprise the more fuel, information, and skills you have the more your chances for victory become available. Chris Brazelton participated in several other training groups similar to Camp Wellstone prior to campaigning for Minnesota's State House of Representatives district 19B in Wright County. For her, Camp Wellstone focused on "framing the message" for running a successful campaign. Chris is currently running for Sate Representative in election 2008.
Camp Wellstone's leadership training skills were influential to Chris. Back in 2006 was her first time running for Minnesota's State House of Representatives. She confessed that her fundraising techniques and general campaign organizing were not perfected. Now she feels better prepared to retrieve the necessary information required to run for office that she "wasn't able to access until going to Camp Wellstone."
At present, Chris is battling for DFL endorsement in Wright County. She says it is too early to see how she will utilize her Camp Wellstone training, but she will decide on strategic methods when campaign resources are available. With the aid of volunteers, she says she will accomplish getting her message out on her abilities of bring unity to uncooperative communities through enabling conversation instead of conflict in creating resolutions. Without crucial volunteer involvement, time is scarce for door knocking or contacting "county house parties to reach larger constituents for support."
Chris credits her confidence and professional performance with her campaign directly to the Camp Wellstone training. She discovered "new abilities to locate appropriate information in relation to running a campaign" and how significant an impact she is capable of making.
