Campus Camp Wellstone Trainer
Andrea is currently the Deputy Campaign Services Director for Future PAC- the campaign arm for the Oregon House Democrats. On a daily basis she works with candidates, campaign managers and consultants on messaging, fundraising and voter contact plans. She is currently working on half of the house races and enjoys the excitement and challenges that the campaign world presents. She looks forward to working hard this election cycle to expand the Democratic majority in the State House and to continue advancing a progressive agenda. Prior to her time with Future PAC, Andrea was the Democratic National Committee’s Constituency Director for the State of Oregon. Her position as Constituency Director was a part of Gov. Howard Dean’s 50 State Partnership Program, and allowed her to work directly with diverse communities throughout Oregon on a daily basis. Andrea’s interest in public service and politics was sparked by NEW Leadership Oregon, a non-profit organization that works to train, mentor and support women who are pursuing careers in public leadership. She was a proud participant of the NEW Leadership Oregon training program in 2005 and went on to be an intern and later the Program Coordinator. Andrea Cooper is a graduate of the University of Portland where she received her B.A in Political Science with a minor in Sociology. Throughout her four years at UP, Andrea was actively involved on campus in a variety of ways and is proud to have learned as much out of the classroom as she did inside of it. She worked as the Diversity Coordinator for UP, a position that allowed her to bring a community organizing perspective to the Multicultural programs on campus. Her leadership roles included President of the Black Student Union, ASUP Senator, member of the College Democrats and intern for Congressman Earl Blumenauer.
